MINERALS
The supplement-amplifier
no one talks about.
Taking a mineral supplement doesn't guarantee you absorb it. The research is unambiguous: your gut microbiome determines mineral bioavailability through three mechanisms. A dysbiotic gut can reduce absorption significantly even when intake is adequate.
CALCIUM
SCFA fermentation lowers colonic pH, dramatically increasing calcium solubility and absorption. Prebiotic inulin supplementation shows measurable improvements in calcium absorption in multiple human trials.
MAGNESIUM

IRON

ZINC
Phytic acid in plant foods is zinc's main antagonist. Specific gut bacteria Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium produce phytase enzymes that break it down, releasing bound zinc for absorption. No phytase producers = lost zinc.
